The investigation focuses on an alleged obscene video involving Revanna. In a self-made video aired on Monday, Revanna indicated that he would appear before the SIT for questioning on May 31. He said that his travel was pre-planned because there was no case against him when the India General Elections 2024 were held in Karnataka on April 26. He also claimed a political conspiracy against him owing to his rising political career, reported ANI.
According to the report, Revanna stated that he plunged into depression and isolated himself, accusing Rahul Gandhi and other Congress leaders of starting conversations about the problem as part of a plan.
"When I asked for 7 days to appear, Rahul Gandhi and many other Congress leaders started talking about it and me in open forums. A political conspiracy was hatched against me, and then I went into depression and isolated myself. That's why I apologized, even after that many in Hassan hatched a conspiracy against me as I'm growing in politics, by looking at all this, I stayed away," he said.
Revanna is being investigated by the Karnataka government's Special Investigation Team (SIT) after a lady who worked in his household accused him of sexual harassment and criminal intimidation, the report added.
