The vaccination of those in the 18-44 age group, is most likely to hit the brakes, as the state government of Maharashtra has decided to divert available stocks, to give the second dose to those 45 years and above. While the vaccine shortage has hit the state’s inoculation drive, a huge number of older citizens are waiting for their second dose. According to Health Minister RajeshTope, the state needs over 5 lakh Covaxin doses, and 16 lakh Covishield doses, for the 45-plus age group’s second shot. Watch this video for more details.
