Mumbai: Harassed by loan recovery agents, borrower tries to end life, is saved by wife

The BKC Cyber police have registered a fresh FIR against online loan recovery agents after receiving a complaint from a 32-year-old engineer. He took a loan of Rs 3.75 lakh from 10 online loan applications and has repaid Rs 15 lakh so far, but still received threat calls and his photo was morphed in porn videos and circulated to his contacts. Fed up, he attempted suicide at his house and was saved by his wife. The complainant, who didn’t want to be named, is a resident of Kalina and works in a private company.

Mumbai: Debris mafia now reaches Bandra's Carter Road

Illegal dumping of debris on mangroves near Carter Road at Bandra has again come to the fore with a green activist writing to commissioner division office, Konkan; DCF Mangrove Cell; Collector Mumbai Suburban; Maharashtra Coastal Zone Management Authority, Maharashtra Pollution Control Bureau and officials of revenue department. Environmentalist Stalin D has claimed that the debris is killing the mangroves in the area. 

Mangrove Cell officials had allegedly also visited the spot a number of times and directed the civic corporation and collector to remove the debris, but no action has been taken yet. 

Mumbai Crime: 8 executives of financial services firm booked for outraging modesty of woman, who was suspended for 'sexual misconduct'

Dadar police have registered an FIR against eight senior executives of Motilal Oswal Financial Services Ltd (MOFSL) for allegedly outraging the modesty of a female co-worker, whom the company suspended following complaints that she made “her male colleague sexually uncomfortable”. The FIR, under Section 509 (word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman) of Indian Penal Code, was registered at Dadar police station on May 25. No arrest has been made yet.

Mumbai: Just 11 out of 505 roads concretised ahead of pre-monsoon deadline

Of the 505 roads in the city and its suburbs that are being concretised, merely 11 are complete five days prior to the pre-monsoon deadline. Work on the remaining 494 roads will resume only after the rainy season. All the 11 completed roads are in the western suburbs; seven in Malad, three in Goregaon and one in Bandra. The delay has been caused by retendering and the decision to lay a utility cable duct under all roads to minimise the damage in the future.

Cruise ship drugs case: NCB gives clean chit to Aryan Khan

After an eight-month-long investigation, the SIT headed by IPS officer Sanjay Singh gave a clean chit to Shah Rukh Khan's son Aryan Khan in a drugs case. The chargesheet filed before the special NDPS court was against 14 people and six were given a clean chit due to lack of evidence. The 6,000-pages charge sheet was submitted before a special NDPS court on May 27. Aryan had spent 26 days in Arthur Road jail.
