In an extended executive meeting at Tilak Bhavan, the Congress leadership discussed plans to regain political influence in Maharashtra and gear up for the upcoming 2024 elections. The meeting addressed various issues, including the Bharat Jodo Nyaya Yatra led by Rahul Gandhi and the party's response to the disqualification of MLAs.

In-charge Ramesh Chennithala expressed confidence that collaborative efforts could lead to the Congress returning to power in Maharashtra and at the national level. He emphasized the need for a united front against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and its divisive policies, stating that the party is committed to challenging the BJP government's actions over the past decade.

Chennithala, guiding the extended meeting, outlined the Congress party's strategy for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. He mentioned upcoming review meetings at the division, district, and block levels to assess the party's preparation. Additionally, discussions about seat allocation in Maharashtra through the Mahavikas Aghadi coalition were positive, hinting at a collaborative approach.

State President Nana Patole highlighted the prevailing public discontent with the BJP government's policies, stating that there is widespread anger over divisive tactics and economic challenges. He drew attention to the success of the Bharat Jodo Yatra led by Rahul Gandhi and expressed optimism for a similar outcome for the Bharat Jodo Nyaya Yatra in Maharashtra.

Ashok Chavan urged party members to work with determination, drawing parallels with the success achieved in Telangana and Karnataka. He acknowledged the challenges of the upcoming 2024 elections and emphasized the need for readiness.

Balasaheb Thorat focused on the challenges and opportunities in 2024, with both Lok Sabha and Assembly elections on the horizon. He called for unity among party members and emphasized the potential success if everyone collaborates effectively.

The meeting also saw protests against the recent decision to disqualify MLAs, deemed anti-democratic by the Congress executive. Responding to questions during a press conference, Ramesh Chennithala criticized the decision, calling it detrimental to democracy.

The leaders concluded the meeting with a commitment to making the Bharat Jodo Nyaya Yatra a success and securing positive results in the upcoming elections.
