Zeeshan was also given a ticket to contest polls from Bandra East constituency by the party which is a constituent of ruling Mahayuti alliance.
His father Baba Siddique, who joined NCP earlier this year, was recently gunned down by assailants who are connected to the jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi.
Zeeshan Siddique joined the fold in presence of Sunil Tatkare, the state unit chief of the Ajit Pawar faction.
In a social media post, Zeeshan expressed his gratitude to Ajit Pawar, Sunil Tatkare and the party for trusting him in "these tough times".
He said it was his father's dream to see him win the elections after the work they did in Bandra East and added that "it is my duty to fulfil his dream and serve the people of Vandre East".
The MLA, in his post, said that he was grateful to Ajit Pawar for his "unwavering support" and for entrusting him with responsibility to contest polls.
Deputy CM, welcoming Zeeshan into the fold, said, "Your father’s dream lives through you—I’m with you, every step of the way."
