According to a weather forcast by the BMC, Mumbai was set to experience generally cloudy skies with intermittent spells of moderate to heavy rain throughout the day

The weather forecast predicted a series of showers in city and its suburbs

A high tide was expected at around 7:32 pm. The city was likely to witness a high tide of 3.62 meters, the BMC said on Monday morning

According to the civic body, a low tide, with a height of 0.95 meters, was expected on July 2 at around 02:23 am

As a precautionary measure, the crowds were restricted from entering the beach and Mumbai Police officials were seen patrolling at the beach

The lifeguards were also seen stationed at the Juhu beach in the western suburbs of the city as part of the authorities security measures during monsoon in the city

Mumbai has been witnessing series of heavy showers on regular intervals since last week
