Police sources disclosed that they have escalated inquiries, involving interrogations of associates in police custody or on bail, aimed at substantiating the alleged rumours on Dawood Ibrahim being poisoned and subsequently hospitalised.

Unconfirmed information suggested Dawood's recent hospitalisation followed by his return home unscathed; scrutiny of Karachi hospital records yielded no evidence of his admission under his name or an alias.

Multiple agencies are delving into reports of Dawood's purported hospitalisation with an aim to decipher the nature of the incident amidst ambiguous details surrounding the gangster's health.

Reports from Pakistan hint at an internet blackout during Imran Khan's virtual rally, leading Indian authorities to suspect a deliberate misinformation campaign by the PTI party to destabilise the country.

The dissemination of Dawood's alleged demise originated from a fake account impersonating Pakistan's caretaker Prime Minister Anwar ul Haq Kakar, falsely declaring the gangster's death due to poisoning in a Karachi hospital.

Subsequent investigations confirmed the falsity of the account which proved that the previous claims initially circulated about Dawood Ibrahim's supposed demise were false.

In 2016, unfounded reports of Dawood's death had surfaced which were refuted by his close aide Chhota Shakeel.

However, this time, the absence of rebuttals or clarifications from the underworld following these unverified claims has cast apprehensions among law enforcement personnel.

Amidst the uncertain circumstances, ongoing inquiries continue to explore the veracity and underlying reasons behind recent spate of unconfirmed news regarding Dawood Ibrahim's health.
