Mumbai Police have outlined extensive security arrangements for the voting day on May 20. Thousands of police officers will be deployed across the city to ensure a smooth and secure election process. Senior police officials will oversee the operations to maintain law and order.

On election day, Mumbai will see the deployment of five additional commissioners of police, 25 zonal deputy commissioners of police, and 77 assistant commissioners of police. This high-level presence underscores the seriousness with which the authorities are approaching election security.

The security plan includes the deployment of 2,475 police officials and 22,100 police constables. This significant force is expected to cover all critical areas, ensuring that any issues can be swiftly addressed.

In addition to local police, three companies of Riot Control Police (RCP) and 36 units from Central Security Forces (CAPF and SAP) will be stationed in Mumbai. This additional support will help manage any large-scale disturbances or security threats.

Further bolstering the security efforts, 6,200 home guards, 120 police officials, and 5,360 additional officers will be on duty. This extensive security presence is aimed at providing a safe environment for voters and election workers.

Special preparations have been made for the safe storage and movement of election equipment, including Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs). Strong rooms have been established in various parts of the city, with restrictions around these areas to ensure the security of the equipment.

To facilitate the smooth transportation of election materials, temporary traffic laws have been implemented in the Bandra-Khar area. From May 19 to May 21, selected roads will be designated as "No Parking" zones to prevent any obstruction to the movement of election equipment.
