On Saturday, Maharashtra Governor CP Radhakrishnan visited the famous Lalbaugcha Raja pandal in Mumbai to pay his respects to Lord Ganesha.

The dignitaries of the Lalbaugcha Raja Utsav Mandal presented the governor with a memento and a yearbook during his visit, in honour of the occasion.

Lalbaugcha Raja is one of the most well-known Ganesh mandals in Mumbai, attracting lakhs of devotees every year. Many stand in long queues for hours to seek the blessings of Lord Ganesha.

Despite its popularity, there are yearly complaints about the mismanagement of devotees. The mandal’s staff has often been accused of mishandling crowds and mistreating devotees, leading to dissatisfaction.

Entrepreneur Harsh Goenka posted a video on social media showing devotees being pushed by the mandal's staff.

He criticised the VIP culture at the pandal, saying it causes unequal treatment, with common devotees facing long waits and rough behaviour.

The video shared by Goenka has gone viral, with many social media users agreeing with his criticism.

Several people also shared their own unpleasant experiences at the pandal, demanding an end to the VIP treatment.

Television actor Simran Budharup shared her own disheartening experience at the pandal. She and her mother were allegedly mistreated by the staff.
