A fire broke out at a market in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar city early on Thursday morning, damaging nearly 20 shops. The incident occurred at around 5 am in the market at Central Naka in the Azad Chowk area, where several furniture shops are located. (PICS/PTI)

No casualties were reported in the incident, a fire department official confirmed. Around 15 to 20 shops sustained significant damage due to the blaze. The fire department received a call about the fire at approximately 5.30 am.

Six fire engines were dispatched to the scene immediately to control the flames. Fire engines from the Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) and Garware Industries later joined the operation.
Firefighters worked for several hours to bring the fire under control. The cause of the fire remains unknown, and an investigation is underway. Thick smoke from the fire spread across the area, making visibility poor for a while.

Emergency personnel ensured that the surrounding area was evacuated as a precaution.

Authorities are assessing the extent of the damage and estimating the financial loss incurred by shop owners.
