Patil was inducted into the party at former CM Uddhav Thackeray's residence Matoshree in Bandra.
Following his induction into the party, Sanjay Raut was seen addressing the press at Matoshree in Mumbai.
Unmesh Patil on Tuesday had met Raut after he was denied ticket by BJP to contest Lok Sabha Elections 2024 from Jalgaon.
Sena (UBT) is set to contest from Jalgaon in northern Maharashtra as part of Maha Vikas Aghadi.
Patil's meeting, in light of the Lok Sabha Elections 2024, thus had assumed greater significance; however, the leader had downplayed it initially.
After the meeting, he had claimed that meeting with Raut was not political and that he met him in the capacity of being a colleague.
Unmesh Patil in 2019 had won with a margin of over 4 lakh votes in Jalgaon; he had gotten 7.13 lakh votes but for Lok Sabha Elections 2024 was replaced with Smita Wagh.
