Mihir Kotecha is one of the 99 candidates declared by the BJP in its first list. He is a sitting Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) from Mulund constituency 

Kotecha was accompanied by his supporters for filing the nomination papers. He also greeted a large number of locals after the procedure 

Kotecha had contested in the Lok Sabha elections held earlier this year from the Mumbai North East constituency. However, he lost to Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) candidate Sanjay Patil by around 30,000 votes 

A large number of police personnel had been deployed at the centre where Kotecha filed his nomination

The legislator also clicked selfies with his supporters on Thursday

Kotecha is among one of the 80 of the sitting MLAs the BJP has retained in its first list 

In the 2019 Assembly election, Kotecha secured 87,253 voted. He defeated Harshala Rajesh Chavan from the MNS by more than 50,000 votes

The Maharashtra Assembly election will be held on November 22. The last day for filing the nomination is October 29 

The results of the Maharashtra Assembly election will be announced on November 23
