Bhavesh Bhinde, the director of the advertising firm Ego Media Pvt. Ltd., was apprehended in Udaipur, Rajasthan.

Bhinde's company had installed the giant hoarding that collapsed in Ghatkopar, leading to the tragic deaths of 16 people. He was brought to Mumbai early on Friday morning for further legal proceedings.

Bhinde is set to be produced in court later today. The arrest follows a tragic incident where a massive hoarding collapsed in suburban Ghatkopar, causing 16 persons' deaths

The police have charged him with culpable homicide not amounting to murder under the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

The hoarding, measuring 120 feet by 120 feet, collapsed onto a nearby petrol pump during gusty winds and heavy unseasonal rains on Monday evening. The collapse resulted in the death of 16 people and injured 75 others.

After trailing Bhinde for three days, the Mumbai police successfully apprehended him in Udaipur. He was subsequently taken to Ahmedabad and then flown to Mumbai.

The police team, along with Bhinde, arrived at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport around 5 am on Friday.

The case was registered at the Pant Nagar Police Station against Bhinde, all directors of the advertising agency Ego Media, its officials and employees.

Meanwhile, on Thursday, Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) Commissioner Bhushan Gagrani informed that the rescue operation had been completed.
