Over 10 lakh people vaccinated across Mumbai

While 37,190 doses of Covishield were given, 3170 doses of Covaxin were administered on Friday. However, the adverse effects cases were minor ones. A private hospital at Chunabhatti will start a vaccination centre from today.

With the pace of the vaccination drive picking up with every passing day, civic and private centres across the city have so far vaccinated more than 10 lakh people. The BMC-run 28 vaccinations centres have administered the jab to 70 per cent of the total number of beneficiaries, while the remaining 29 per cent has been done by 12 vaccination centres under the jurisdiction of the state and central government and 106 private vaccination centres.

A total of 40,360 beneficiaries were vaccinated across the city on Friday. Meanwhile, a total of 10,486,94 beneficiaries have been inoculated, out of which 14,0938 have received both the doses.

According to data, 14 adverse effects were reported on Friday. Of these, 13 people had received the Covishield vaccine, whereas one had been given Covaxin.

The number of senior citizens who turned up for vaccination on Friday was 18,356 and 4,762 people aged above 45 years with comorbidities took the jab.

The number of health care workers who took the first dose on Friday was 2,904 and 837 took their second dose.

Further, the number of frontline workers who took their first dose on Friday was 10,325 and 3,176 took their second dose.
