Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Anil Desai has won from the Mumbai South Central seat. Desai, per the Mumbai Lok Sabha Election Results 2024, received 3, 95, 138 votes. He won by a margin of 53, 384 votes.
Mumbai South Central, akin to Mumbai South, is witnessing a direct fight between the two rival factions of Shiv Sena led by former Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray and the present CM Eknath Shinde.
Rahul Shewale, who was pitted against Desai, per the Mumbai Lok Sabha Election Results 2024 data, received 3, 41, 754 votes. The third time was not a charm for Shewale.

Mumbai South Central, which predominantly comprises Marathi-speaking areas like Dadar, Mahim, and Sion along with Dharavi and adjacent regions, has seen different political parties represent the constituency.
The seat, which Congress won back in 2009 after 2014 was held by then-undivided Shiv Sena's candidate Rahul Shewale.
The constituency, having undergone demographic changes in the last few decades, comprises a mix of urban, suburban and industrial areas with each dealing with a set of infrastructural issues and issues of pollution.
Mumbai Lok Sabha Election Results 2024: Counting of votes
According to an official, postal ballots were counted first when the 48 Lok Sabha seats in the state were counted starting at 8 am.
Along with the ruling BJP and opposition Congress, the Shiv Sena and NCP factions are vying for political dominance in the state alongside the Sena (UBT) and NCP (SP).
In five phases from April 19 to May 20, Maharashtra held general elections with a voter participation of 61.33 per cent.
Out of 9,29,43,890 voters, 5,70,06,778 voters used their right to vote in total during the five phases.
With 71.88 per cent of the vote, the Gadchiroli-Chimur constituency had the highest turnout, while Mumbai South had the lowest with 50.06 per cent.
In Maharashtra, there are 14,507 vote-counting personnel working in 289 counting rooms and 4,309 counting tables.
