Shaina's jump came after Mahayuti fielded Sena leader Milind Deora from the Worli seat instead of the former BJP spokesperson. Media reports had previously suggested that Shaina NC could be fielded from Worli by the BJP.
The ground in Worli constituency is set for a high-profile contest between Deora and Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Aaditya Thackeray and Maharashtra Navnirman Sena leader Sandeep Deshpande.
Meanwhile, on Monday, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde filed his nomination for the Maharashtra assembly election from the Kopri-Pachpakhadi Assembly constituency. Notably, Tuesday is the deadline for filing nominations for the Maharashtra Elections 2024, reported ANI.
Both the current Mahayuti coalition and the opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi, which includes the Shiv Sena (UBT), NCP (Sharad Pawar faction), and Congress, are working hard to win the state assembly election.
The ruling Mahayuti alliance includes the BJP, the Shiv Sena (Eknath Shinde faction), and the Ajit Pawar-led NCP.
The Maharashtra Elections 2024 are slated for November 20, with counting for all 288 seats on November 23.
In the 2019 assembly election, the BJP won 105 seats, the Shiv Sena 56, and the Congress 44. In 2014, the BJP won 122 seats, the Shiv Sena 63, and Congress 42.
According to ANI, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Shaina NC is certain that the Mahayuti alliance will win the next Maharashtra assembly elections, citing the state government's major public work.
"The Bharatiya Janata Party's performance in the 2019 Maharashtra assembly elections was impressive, with 17 seats contested in Mumbai, of which we won 16. This time, we are certain the Mahayuti will win, as much public work has been accomplished," Shaina told ANI.
