A team of two representatives of the Delhi government visited the city on Monday and Tuesday to study the âMumbai Model' to fight Covid-19 in the state. Various measures taken by the BMC are likely to be replicated there to curb the cases and bring the spread of the virus in control, said, civic officials.
During the visit, the senior officials of the Delhi government's health department learnt about the various measures taken by the BMC, such as decentralised management achieved through ward war rooms, successful implementation of oxygen management at the hospital level, and jumbo hospitals set up in a short span of time. Civic officials also described to them how keeping control of 80 per cent of the beds in city hospitals under the civic body to facilitate Covid-19 patients helped the city.
The officials visited the Jumbo Covid Hospital of the BMC at Goregaon and the Seven Hills Hospital in Andheri and got first-hand information about the management there.
"Despite the challenges of population density, the work done by the BMC is being positively acknowledged from time to time at the state, national and global levels," said a civic official.
