Mumbai: New breed of criminals extorting money by accusing pet owners of cruelty

Activists of the city’s topmost animal NGO, People for Animals, led by MP Maneka Gandhi, have been booked by Sion police for threatening pet parents with police complaints and extorting them. Three activists—Lata Parmar, who is the president of PFA Mumbai; Bimlani Navani and Mohit Chawre—have also been booked recently for forging the stamp of Sion police in a letter about rescuing a Dalmatian dog from Thane. Cops said there are several cases filed against them at different police stations.

Mumbai-based YouTube rapper arrested in Goa for possessing MDMA worth Rs 7 lakh

A Mumbai-based Youtube rapper was arrested by the Goa Police, along with a woman from Delhi, and MDMA, a banned synthetic drug, valued at Rs 7 lakh seized from their possession, police said on Friday.

Transgender held for threatening flower vendor, stealing money with toy gun

The Borivli Government Railway Police on Thursday arrested a transgender for threatening a woman flower vendor with a toy gun on a local train and robbing Rs 4,000. According to the GRP sources, there were only four women inside the compartment when the incident took place. 

Mumbai: 40 Chinese among 150 people booked by EOW for fraudulently becoming directors of Indian firms

The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of the Mumbai Police has registered 34 FIRs against 150 people, including 60 foreigners- 40 of them from China- for allegedly violating laws regarding the registration of new companies and for fraudulently becoming directors of Indian companies, a police official said.
The official said the FIRs were registered between April 1 to 15 and added that four more First Information Reports will be registered till Tuesday.

Mumbai: 2 men try to drive into Mauritius PM’s convoy at Mahim Causeway, nabbed

The Bandra police have booked two men for allegedly arguing with the traffic police and trying to drive into the convoy of the Prime Minister of Mauritius at Mahim Causeway, in the wee hours of Monday. Traffic police officers said the incident took place when the convoy of the Mauritius PM was moving from WEH towards the Bandra-Worli sea link at 1.30 am on Monday. Traffic constable Suraj Mhatre, who is a beat marshal, stopped vehicles for VIP movement.
