Hipparagi allegedly decapitated his wife near a drain along the Virar-Nalasopara Link Road and dumped her torso in a bag. The case surfaced on March 13 when local children found a suitcase near the Pirkunda Dargah area of Virar and discovered a human head inside.

Shocked by the discovery, the children alerted local authorities, prompting a swift police response. A forensic team was dispatched to gather evidence from the crime scene for further examination.
Police arrested Hipparagi shortly after launching an investigation into the incident. Hipparagi confessed to the crime, revealing that he disposed of the severed head in a suitcase several kilometres from the crime scene.
Based on Hipparagi’s confession, Mandvi Police, assisted by fire officials, located the torso from the drain. A police officer described the act as "brutal and calculated" and confirmed that DNA tests are being conducted to match the head with the torso.

An FIR has been registered, and Hipparagi faces charges of murder. Police have assured that further investigations are ongoing to establish the motive and gather additional evidence.
