One person was killed and three others were injured when a truck toppled on their car on the Mumbai-Nashik highway in Maharashtra's Thane district in the wee hours of Sunday, the police said, reported the PTI.
According to the news agency, the accident took place at around 1.30 am at Mankoli on the highway when the car was heading towards Nashik while the truck was going towards Mumbai, police inspector Mahesh Patil said.
The truck, having registration number of Karnataka, skidded and fell on the car, he said.
One of the car occupants was crushed to death in the accident while three other persons received injuries and they were rushed to a hospital in Bhiwandi, the official said.

The body was sent to a government hospital for postmortem, he said, as per the PTI.
Thane man loses his legs after falling from local train
A 30-year-old man lost both his legs after falling from a local train. This occurrence occurred in Maharashtra's Thane district. He fell off a crowded local train at Thane Creek.
The incident took occurred at 10 pm on May 22, according to PTI.
According to media sources, he collapsed on his own and was rushed to the Kalwa Hospital for treatment. Doctors claimed that a train had run over his legs.
Jagan Laxman Jangle is an inhabitant of Kalyan.
According to the preliminary investigation, the man fell from the train and was not hit by anyone, and a case has been filed.
He lost his balance, fell on the tracks after the train crossed Thane station and came under the wheels of the moving local train, the police said quoting information based on the statements of the man's brother, doctors and eyewitnesses.
After receiving information that a man was lying injured near the Thane creek, GRP personnel reached the spot and rushed Jangle to the nearby Chhatrapati Shivaji Hospital in Kalwa, the official said.
Till now, it has not been established in the probe that someone had hit the man to rob his phone due to which he fell from the train, he said.
"We are conducting further probe," the official said, the PTI reported.
