On this day in December 2018, Isha Ambani and Anand Piramal sent their fans into a frenzy when the two exchanged vows as husband and wife. Their wedding pictures from pre-wedding the bash to the grand wedding ceremony and the gala reception in Mumbai are still etched in our memories. 

Isha Ambani's wedding celebrations started in the afternoon with the groom, Anand, arriving on a mare in traditional attire at Antilia. At the Ambani's towering Antilia residence. Anand's wedding procession included guards armed with automatic rifles and a brass band from Jaipur playing choicest of numbers with guests tapping their feet including the groom's father Ajay Piramal. While the Piramal's arrived with a grand baarat, Isha's brothers Akash and Anant, along with their uncle Anil Ambani, played the perfect host as they welcomed the baarati.

At Antilia, minutes before exchanging vows, Akash and Anant walked their beautiful sister Isha down the aisle.

While Isha Ambani was walked down the aisle by her brothers, Anand Piramal was led to the wedding pandal by his in-laws, Mukesh and Nita Ambani, and his parents followed them. Both, the Ambanis and the Piramals ensured that the event turned out to be one of the most memorable ones for Isha and Anand.

Isha Ambani and Anand Piramal's wedding traditions began with the rendition of the Gayatri Mantra which was recorded by legendary Bollywood singer Lata Mangeshkar. As the Gayatri Mantra kept playing, Isha's parents, Mukesh and Nita were seen getting teary-eyed.

Following the Gayatri Mantra, Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan in a small speech explained the significance of the rendition by Lata Mangeshkar to the guests and went on to explain the meaning of 'kanyadaan'

Isha Ambani and Anand Piramal tied the knot in a traditional ceremony held at Antilia. The wedding guest list was trimmed down to 600 people in order to accommodate only relatives and close friends for the special occasion.

Isha Ambani and Anand Piramal's wedding festivities which started from December 7, 2018, spanned over a week. Their wedding was no less than a royal affair. The festivities were kicked off the four-day-long Anna Seva which saw the Ambani's feed three square meals to over 5,000 people.

Isha Ambani and Anand Piramal's high-profile guest list included the Bachchan family, superstars Rajinikanth, Bollywood king Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan and Aamir Khan, cricketing legend Sachin Tendulkar, former president Pranab Mukherjee, ex-US secretary of state Hillary Clinton and the newly-wed couples, Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas among others.

Post the big fat wedding, the Ambanis and the Piramals hosted two grand receptions for the newlyweds. The first reception was hosted by Isha and Anand as a newly-married couple. The wedding reception was held at Isha Ambani-Anand Piramal's home 'Gulita' in Worli and was attended by close friends and family.

The second reception, the grandest of all was hosted by Mukesh and Nita Ambani for their daughter Isha and son-in-law Anand Piramal at Jio Gardens in BKC. The wedding reception was attended by eminent personalities from politics, Bollywood, Mumbai celebrities and many more.

Isha Ambani's wedding invitation was placed inside an elaborately designed storage box with their initials 'IA' etched on the top of it. The box comprised of a diary that contained the wedding invites. The diary had a letter written by Isha and her to-be husband Anand Piramal. What's more? Further pages of the diary revealed the itinerary of the wedding functions with 'Shubh Abhinandan' written on them. The invite contained another box, which was pink in colour with golden embroidery. When opened, one can hear the tune of the Gayatri Mantra. It contained four small boxes with a framed picture of Goddess Gayatri.

Did you know? Anand Piramal popped the question to Isha Ambani at a temple in Mahabaleshwar. The couple celebrated the occasion with a lunch, joined by their parents, Mukesh and Nita Ambani and Ajay and Swati Piramal besides other family members

Besides Anna Seva function, a specially curated exhibition called 'Swadesh Bazaar' was set up to showcase 108 traditional Indian crafts and arts form from all parts of India as part of Isha and Anand's pre-wedding festivities

Industrialists Mukesh Ambani and his wife Nita, and Ajay Piramal and his wife Swati, along with Isha and Anand were present at the Anna Seva function. Both the families were seen serving and interacting with the people at the Narayan Seva Sansthan, in Udaipur in Rajasthan.

During Isha Ambani and Anand Piramal's wedding, a viral video that did rounds of social media showed the likes of Amitabh Bachchan, Aamir Khan and Shah Rukh Khan serving food to the guests during the wedding ceremony. The serving was a part of a ritual where the bride's family serves food to the groom's side.

King of romance Shah Rukh Khan was also part of serving ritual. The B-Town celebrities were seen serving traditional Gujarati dishes such as the dhokla among others. Post-wedding, Abhishek Bachchan revealed why celebrities were serving food to the guests. In a tweet, the junior Bachchan said, It is a tradition called 'Sajjan ghot'. The bride's family feeds the groom's family.'

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and her daughter Aaradhya also served the guests. In a few candid photos, Aishwarya, who was dressed in a Sabyasachi sari, served sweets to the guests while Aaradhya looked on. The mother-daughter duo was accompanied by Isha Ambani's sister-un-law Shloka Mehta.
