The GenNext show presented by NIF Global unveiled collections of three creative designers on the opening of Day 2.

Abhishek Shinde, an NIFT alumnus, presented a collection from his label ‘Abhichiq’ which focused on menswear that reimagined the looks into classics with timeless artisanal offerings. His collection ‘Ciao’ for Spring/Summer 2025 was inspired by sunny Sicily and its oceanic allure, combined with a rustic charm.

Yash Patil, a graduate of knitwear design from NIFT Bengaluru, presented creations from his label ‘That Antiquepiece’. The outfits featured intricate handwork and embellishments. The collection was inspired by the archival photographs of the Rana queens of Nepal from 1870 to 1950.

The collection from the label ‘Quarter’ by NIFT alumnus Somya Lochan, which revolved around grief and loss, was titled ‘The Dichotomy of Loss’. The line was the result of an experiment conducted with five individuals and their perspective on grief and loss. Provided with a shirt, pants and scissors, the five individuals were allowed to cut the garments that would reveal their emotions. Their offering resulted in an inspiration for Somya’s collection for the coming season.

After this show, five collections were unveiled by NIF Global students from Mumbai, Gandhinagar, Gurugram, Indore and Jaipur.

Actor Nushrratt Bharuccha turned showstopper for the show. Sharing more about her outfit, she told ANI, “It’s very easy and comfortable. I can wear it any time, either for the party or any day like for dinner or coffee.” (Photo Courtesy: Satej Shinde)
