For 17-year-old Saamya Patel, the interest in photography bloomed at an early age after she was particularly inspired by her grandfather. As the world slowed down during the Covid-19 pandemic, she took the opportunity to nurture this interest in Alibaug and spark the vision for her photographs.

Interestingly, the Mumbai teen also takes inspiration from Formula One photographer Vladimir Rys. Rys's skill to encapsulate human expressions and monumental occasions through the careful interplay of light and perspective is what made her hone her photography skills.

As a part of this photography journey, Patel is deeply committed to Shraddha Charitable Trust, an NGO dedicated to providing sustainable solutions for rehabilitation, support, and livelihood for autistic and mentally challenged adults.

The photography exhibition is aptly titled 'The Third Eye' because Patel believes she has a unique ability to compose photographs with an unusual perspective, almost like she has a 'third eye', and is also the reason why she wants more people to take a peak into the works.

The exhibition will be on view at the Dilip Piramal Art Gallery at the National Centre for Performing Arts this weekend from September 23 to September 24 from 12 noon - 8 pm with free entry.
