The players arrived dressed in traditional kurtas, embracing the Diwali spirit.

The event kicked off with Ganpati and Lakshmi pooja, setting a festive tone.

The team enthusiastically participated in the festivities.

Petr Kratky, Head Coach, Mumbai City FC, said, "My first Diwali experience in India was truly mesmerising. The vibrant decorations, dazzling lights and infectious enthusiasm created an electrifying atmosphere. We decorated our workspace, shared traditional sweets and snacks, and exchanged gifts."

"My favourite Diwali tradition is the lighting of diyas. It symbolises the triumph of light over darkness and knowledge over ignorance. I love watching the soft, golden glow of diyas illuminate homes, temples and streets," Kratky added.

Reflecting on the team's festive spirit, Jon Toral shared, "The atmosphere in the team Diwali celebration was great. It was very familiar and it was really nice seeing everyone come together and enjoy the celebration together. We have a great group of people and it’s great not only to enjoy time on the pitch but also outside with celebrations like Diwali."

“I would say seeing all the lights on the streets brings a great view at night so that would be my favourite tradition of Diwali," Toral revealed.

Sharing his experience, Thaer Krouma said, "I experienced a beautiful ritual for the first time in India. Being part of such moments always brings happiness. I loved the dress I wore and enjoyed the sweets as well."

Everyone enjoyed a spread of Diwali snacks and sweets.

Mumbai City FC will next play against Kerala Blasters on November 3.
