Looop Lapeta directly heads to OTT

'Looop Lapeta' directed by debutant writer-director Aakash Bhatia, is a remake of the cult classic 'Run Lola Run', and tells the story of a girlfriend, who's on a mission to rescue her boyfriend from a sticky situation. Talking about the film, Aakash Bhatia said, "There's no way to downplay the exhilaration of making the first film and 'Looop Lapeta' has surpassed every bit of it. I'm extremely excited about the shape we have given it. It boldly jumps genres from comedy, thriller to romance and makes for a rollercoaster ride for audiences."

Revealing his approach for the story, he said, "My approach has been to tightly hold on to the emotional core of our story and characters, while consciously playing with style and form. A powerhouse ensemble cast and crew made this project what it is."

"The creative collaborators, Atul Kasbekar and Tanuj made for great producers on this debut journey. I'm elated that Netflix is the platform that the world gets to watch 'Looop Lapeta' on," Bhatia added.

'Munna bhaiyya' Divyenndu enjoys his day off with wife

Actor Divyenndu, who is known for his portrayal of Munna Bhaiya in 'Mirzapur', recently took some time off from his busy schedule to spend time with his better half Akanksha Dahiya on her birthday. The couple went to a luxury resort and spa retreat a little away from Mumbai.

The actor took to his social media and shared a cute reel of him with his wife. He wrote in the caption, "Swimmin' Poolin' All Day, Yo! Coz it's Sunday, Yo!!" The two can be seen candidly having fun in the pool. Earlier, he shared super adorable photos with his wife from the retreat and wrote, "Happy B'Day Love. Thank you for existing." The actor will be seen in Yash Raj Film's OTT web series 'The Railway Men' along with R. Madhavan, Kay Kay Menon and late actor Irrfan Khan's son Babil Khan.

Mohanlal's epic 'Marakkar' to premiere on OTT

Director Priyadarshan's historical magnum opus 'Marakkar: Arabikkadalinte Simham' (Lion of the Arabian Sea), featuring Malayalam superstar Mohanlal in the lead, will premiere on Prime Video on December 17, the OTT platform announced on Monday. Produced by Antony Perumbavoor of Aashirvad Cinemas, the film boasts of a stellar cast with Arjun Sarja, Suniel Shetty, Manju Warrier, Keerthy Suresh, the late Nedumudi Venu, and Pranav Mohanlal playing pivotal roles. The movie, which was released theatrically earlier this month, will apart, from Malayalam, also be available in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu.

The period drama is a biopic of Kunjali Marakkar IV, considered to be one of the greatest naval chiefs of India. It tells the story of the epic warfare between the Portuguese invaders and Kunjali Marakkar IV, who later became the naval commander of the Zamorin, the ruler of Calicut.

"I am overwhelmed by the audience reactions the movie has received and thank each and every one of my fans for their love. It is a matter of pride for me to be a part of this extravaganza that brings alive the legendary story of Kunjali Marakkar, a man known as India's very first naval commander and famed in Kerala folklore," said Mohanlal.

"I believe this is a story that will touch the hearts and emotional strings of every Indian. To be able to bring it to life on such an extraordinary scale is a dream come true for me. I am more than happy about the digital premiere of 'Marakkar' on Prime Video, which will give viewers across the country an opportunity to watch the movie from the comfort of their homes, along with their families," he added.

Rajendra Prasad makes Telugu OTT debut with 'Senapathi'

Veteran Telugu actor Rajendra Prasad is set to make his debut in the OTT space with upcoming web film titled 'Senapathi'. The makers of 'Senapathi' came up with the announcement along with the motion poster, which revealed that the movie is an intriguing thriller.

The motion poster starts off with a conversation, between a grandfather and his grandchild, where the former narrates a 'pitta katha' of a king, his seven sons, who go out fishing (a popular folk tale in Telugu). Rajendra Prasad's narration intrigues, as his look is revealed. Rajendra Prasad's raw, realistic look in the film is unleashed in the poster, which also has an imprint of a gun on his face. With only tinted black-and-white colours, the poster portrays a serious look.

The redemption drama, which is set to be streamed on Aha, also features Naresh Agastya, Gnaneswari Kandregula, Harshavardhan, and Rakendu Mouli in crucial roles. The web original is helmed by Pavan Sadineni, who earlier directed 'Prema Ishq Kadhal' and 'Savitri', the film is produced by Sushmita Konidela and Vishnu Prasad under Gold Box Entertainments.
