Actress Chahatt Khanna needs no introduction. She became an overnight name with serials like âBade Achhe Lagte Hain' and âQubool Hai', wherein she had played the memorable characters of Ayesha and Nida respectively. Mid-Day Online exclusively spoke to the actress on the occasion of Republic Day.
Speaking exclusively to Mid Day Online, Chahatt shared her wish as a teenager to join the police force after being inspired by the great women of India who played a role in making the country proud. She said, "I had been reading a lot about women in governance and how they impacted communities all across the countries. I became totally impressed with their work and for this, I, wholeheartedly salute their spirit. Looking back, I still remember that, when I was about 19 or 20 years old, I had a strong urge to join the police force. I was highly inspired by the women who looked so tough and strong. And for this, I had been researching and reading a lot about women in service across the world and how their skills have impacted communities and countries. Trust me when I say that, it has been totally enlightening, fascinating and so insightful to understand the importance of women in leadership".

On the professional front, not many are aware that Chahat Khanna was offered the role of Mona Singh in Aamir Khan's 'Laal Singh Chaddha'. The actress had turned it down as she thought she wouldn't suit the part. It is being said that, Chahat had received a call from the makers to be a part of the film, but, according to her, she wouldn't be suitable for the role and didn't want to be typecast as the hero 's mother.
