Popular actor Arvind Trivedi, who played the role of Ravan in the '90s show Ramayan is no more. The actor passed away due to cardiac arrest. He was 82. Reportedly, the last rites ceremony will take place on Wednesday morning, October 6, in Mumbai.
The Indian television industry lost yet another gem today. Not just Ramayan, where Arvind Trivedi also made a mark with his role in Vikram Aur Betaal.
Apart from television series, he also acted in close to 300 films including Hindi, Gujarati, social and mythological films. Arvind Trivedi was also a Member of Parliament from 1991 to 1996. The well-known actor was also the acting chairman of the Censor Board for Film Certification (CBFC).
The late Ramanand Sagar's blockbuster mythological show Ramayan returned to the television during the pandemic outbreak last year. The series had gained immense popularity upon release on Doordarshan in 1987, and the channel re-telecast the show during the lockdown. Upon being aired again in 2020, the show once again broke several records of viewership.
