Her real name is Sweety Shetty and she took up Anushka as her screen name. Director Puri Jagannath gave her the name Anushka.

The actress completed her Bachelor of Computer Applications degree at Mount Carmel college, Bengaluru.

Before turning actress, Anushka used to be a yoga instructor. She trained with well known yoga guru Bharat Thakur.

Anushka stands tall at 5 feet 9 inches and was born in Mangalore. 

Anushka gained 20 kgs for her role as Soundarya in 'Size Zero', titled 'Inji Iduppazhagi' in Tamil.
