Ram Charan and Upasana
Actor Ram Charan and his wife Upasana Konidela come from diverse backgrounds. While Ram was born into a film family, Upasana hailed from a family of doctors and entrepreneurs. In a recent interview, Upasana revealed her initial discomfort when Ram Charan would perform intimate scenes with heroines in the films. However, with time she better understood the nature of his profession.
Ram Charan and Upasana dated for a couple of years before deciding to tie the knot. Talking to Galatta Ritz, Upasana said that she struggled to understand Ram's work in the beginning. "Like every woman, I've sometimes asked him if he needed to do certain scenes with heroines. I'm like, âCome on, what is this?'" she said.
"But he's like, âPlease understand, this is my profession and this is what happens'. He explained the technicalities and now everything is fine. Initially, I didn't understand; we came from two different worlds. But there's no one he has better chemistry with than me, he looks the best with me," she added.
Ram and Upasana got married in 2012. A decade after their marriage, the couple welcomed their first child Klin Kara in June 2023. She said that their daughter is completely a daddy's girl. "Power comes from the heart and I think we both play a significant role in parenting. Whatever a mom is expected to do, I think the dad is doing more than that. We're equally raising Kara, it's beautiful. Ram is a hands-on dad. She's a daddy's girl, and I am extremely jealous. When she sees her dad, her face lights up. There's a special smile, a twinkle in her eyes, and I'm like, come on," Ram Charan's wife Upasana shared.

In an interview with mid-day.com before the birth of their daughter, Upasana opened up about the responsibility their child will be born with, given the legacy of their respective families. "I come from the legacy of healthcare and he comes from the legacy of entertainment. They have to respect the legacy and they don't have to be super successful, or follow in the same field, but they have to work hard for whatever they do."
She continued, "Nothing is going to come easy and that is a responsibility that they have to take. We were in the same position. Our parents worked hard to make sure that we live this kind of life, but they also taught us the values. So our children will also have to work hard in order to get what we give them and also respect it. We are going to instill values and that responsibility has to be on their shoulders. They have the freedom to do what they want but they need to know that they come with this kind of legacy which I am sure will make them into better human beings and will help develop their personalities as well."
