The legendary Helen Mirren played the British Monarch in the 2006 film. Three years before playing the role, she was knighted by Her Majesty. Mirren was given the Academy Award for her performance and was also allowed to have dinner with the Queen

Freya Wilson in 'The King’s Speech' (2010)

She played the child Princess Elizabeth in the film that was set during World War II. The film won 2010's Best Picture at the Oscars

Stella Gonet in 'Spencer' (2021)

Scottish actress Stella Gonet essayed the role of the Queen in the film that is centered around Princess Diana's existentialism before her divorce from Prince Charles

She holds the Guinness Book World Records for having played the queen in the most number of films. She first played the Queen in a movie called, 'Loriots Telecabinets'. She has also played the Queen in films like 'National Lampoon's European Vacation', 'The Naked Gun: From the Files of Police Squad', and the TV movie 'The Queen Special'

Claire Foy in The Crown (Season 1 and 2)

She was the first to play the Queen in the popular Netflix series 'The Crown'. She played a young Queen Elizabeth II in the first two seasons of the series

Olivia Colman in The Crown (Season 3 and 4)

After Claire Foy, the baton was passed to Olivia Colman to play a more mature Queen Elizabeth in seasons 3 and 4 of the series

Imelda Staunton in The Crown (Season 5 and 6)

Staunton will take over from Colman as Queen Elizabeth II in the fifth stage of 'The Crown' and the sixth and final season. The fifth season will air in November 2022 but makers have shared Staunton's look as the Queen on social media platforms
