Rajiv Kapoor, legendary actor Raj Kapoor’s son passed away on Tuesday (9 February) morning. He passed away after suffering a heart attack in Mumbai. The family assembled at late Rajiv's Kapoor's house for the prayer meet. Neetu Kapoor, wife of late Rishi Kapoor paid her last respects to the departed soul. (All pictures: Yogen Shah).

Randhir's daughter Karisma Kapoor were also seen at Rajiv's residence in Chembur. In a recent interview, Randhir had talked about how he is coping up with the loss. He said, "I don't know what's happening. I was equally close to Rishi and Rajiv. I have lost four people from my family--my mother Krishna Kapoor (October 2018), eldest sister Ritu (January 14, 2020), Rishi and now Rajiv. These four were my central core, with whom I did most of my talking."

Talking about what exactly happened on Tuesday, February 9, Randhir said, "Well, I have a 24-hour nurse since I have a bit of a problem in walking due to a nerve-related issue. The nurse went to wake him up in the morning at about 7:30 am and he did not respond. She detected that his pulse was very low and dropping further. We rushed him to the hospital but all efforts to save him failed. And, now I am left alone in this house".

Rajiv Kapoor was the youngest of late legend Raj Kapoor's three sons, and the younger brother of Randhir Kapoor and late Rishi Kapoor. Celebrities from the Hindi film industry paid their condolences on social media. Randhir's daughter Kareena Kapoor Khan remembered her uncle by sharing a picture on social media that has Rajiv Kapoor, Raj Kapoor, Rishi Kapoor, and Randhir Kapoor, Kareena wrote- “Broken but strong (sic)".

Bollywood celebrities like Lata Mangeshkar, Sunny Deol. Manoj Kumar, and Neetu Kapoor paid their respects and remembered the actor on social media.

Armaan Jain was also seen at Rajiv Kapoor's residence with his family. Rajiv Kapoor's last film as a leading man was 1990's Zimmedaar. A lesser-known face from the famous Kapoor film clan, he then made a switch to production and direction. The actor was set to make a comeback to the screen with sports drama Toolsidas Junior, starring Sanjay Dutt in the lead.

In 2001, he married architect Aarti Sabharwal, but the couple divorced later.
