Koffee With Karan 8's 4th episode started with Karan Johar introducing Alia Bhatt as his firstborn and Kareena Kapoor as his soul sister before moving on to conversations around their families

During the episode, Alia spoke about her daughter Raha and said, "Sometimes, we fight at home for Raha. It’s like now you have her, now give me.” Kareena playfully asked Alia to have one more child. She said, “That’s the cue to have another one, maybe, so both of you can have one each."

Kareena shared an important update on Raha. The actress said she looks a little like Ranbir. Alia reacted, "Bebo (Kareena) has been saying this. She’s the only person saying this." Karan added, "This is a Kapoor trait. They want all their babies to look like them." Kareena chipped in to say, "She looks like how Ranbir looked when he was a baby." Alia then said, "Raha is a balance of us. A lot of the time, she looks like Ranbir’s father (Rishi Kapoor)."

The conversation then moved to Kareena, who is a mother to two sons. Talking about her children, she spoke about how Saif has changed as a father. He has two children from his previous marriage.

Kareena said, "I think so because obviously I think he has a lot of time now because back then he was working so much. Of course, Tim is lovely but he's lot more quieter than Jeh. Jeh is like a complete “toofan mail” like me. It's like the whole house is upside down."

Alia then recalled taking Raha to Kareena's place for a playdate with Jeh. She said, "One time I brought Raha to your house for a playdate and Jeh was going and bringing all his toys and handing it over to her and then taking and running away."

Alia also spoke about being protective about Raha and not allowing her pictures to leak on the internet. Recalling an incident when she broke down after her child's face got revealed accidentally. Alia shared, "So actually, at that time I remember basically I felt like a picture came out of hers, and it was our schedule in Kashmir (for Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani). It was a very, very difficult schedule for me because it was my first time shooting after giving birth. And no matter what anybody says, it takes really long for your body to bounce back. I still feel like I am undergoing some changes. I was not sleeping at night. I was feeding. I was rushing in between shoots and stuff. So I remember calling up Ranbir and saying, 'Listen I am really... I am finding it very difficult'. So he pushed his work. He said, 'Do not worry. I am going to come pick her up… He said, 'I am going to come pick her up. I am going to take her. I have pushed my work. She will be with me. And it was really like relaxing for me."

Alia added, "So that guilt carried on. It was just one-and-a-half days later that I travelled back and I saw a photo, where the side of her (Raha's) face was kind of visible. And I just broke down. I realised I was not breaking down because I don't want people to see her face. Honestly, when we are meeting people, Ranbir and I are constantly like, 'Please give her your blessings. Raha do namaste'. We are proud of our baby. But it was just too many emotions put together and I am so protective of my loved ones that I just felt like 'Oh God, I don't want that conversation'. I realised I was just exhausted and overwhelmed at that point."

During the episode, Kareena revealed, "I can’t even remember which film I watched. I’m very calm and relaxed and everything is going great. I feel like if I start watching and getting involved and judging, and trying to say..it makes me anxious."

On the show, Alia reacted to being questioned about balancing motherhood and her career. She shared, "What irritated me was from what lens are you asking this question that oh I'm a woman in a so to speak the peak of my career. I'm not saying this. You are saying this. I intend to act till I am 95. As long as I can walk."

When Karan asked Kareena, "If you were asked to play Sara's mother in a film, would you?" she replied, "I think I'm an actor and I can play all ages. So you never know. If it is a good part." Karan asked, "Then you are open to it?" and Kareena responded, "I am open to anything that's acting."

On the episode, Alia once again confessed to being a fan of Kareena and how much she has admired her films like Khushi. She even imitated her expressions in the song, Kasam Ki Kasam from Main Prem Ki Deewani Hoon
