Born in 1990, Kartik Aaryan hails from Gwalior. He came to Mumbai with the aspiration of becoming an actor. He studied engineering while simultaneously doing modelling assignments and giving auditions. He came across the audition for Luv Ranjan's Pyaar Ka Punchnama on Facebook and went through a six month process of auditioning

In 2011, Kartik made his acting debut with the film 'Pyaar Ka Punchnama' and hit it out of the park with a four-minute long monolgue

He went on to star in the romances Akaash Vani (2013) and Kaanchi (2014), but these failed to propel his career forward

Both Akaash Vani and Kanchi received critical acclaim but failed to create an impact at the box office

After Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2, Kartik was seen in a short film titled Silvat. The film follows the story of Noor, a married woman, falls in love with Anwar, a tailor. However, they never express their feelings as she awaits her husband's return from Riyadh

He then starred in the sequel to of Pyaar Ka Punchnama which was a commercial hit and the actor once again shone with his monologue

Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety was Kartik's first 100 crore film and gave him box office cred
