Raj Babbar: The acclaimed Hindi film industry actor entered politics in 1989. He joined Janata Dal, which was led by V. P. Singh at that time, and eventually joined Samajwadi Party. Babbar was thrice elected as the Member of Parliament. He served as a member of Rajya Sabha from 1994 to 1999. He got re-elected to the post in the 14th Lok Sabha elections in 2004. He joined the Indian National Congress in 2008. He was the President of Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee and resigned in 2018.

Sunny Deol: He joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) party in 2019 and won the 2019 Lok Sabha Elections from Gurdaspur constituency.

Nusrat Jahan: The actress who predominantly works in Bengali cinema is Trinamool Congress MP. Chief Minister of West Bengal, Mamata Banerjee is like a motherly guardian in Nusrat's life.

Mimi Chakraborty: The Bengali actress joined politics in 2019, by contesting from Jadavpur Loksabha Constituency in 2019 Indian general election as a Trinamool Congress candidate. Mimi is now a Member of Parliament in the 17th Lok Sabha from Jadavpur constituency.

Sunil Dutt: The late actor, best remembered for his roles in films such as Hamraaz, Reshma Aur Shera, Gumraah, Mera Saaya, Mother India, Waqt, Padosan and Sadhna, last starred in the 2003 comedy Munna Bhai MBBS, where he essayed a father-son relationship on screen with son Sanjay. Sunil Dutt had a successful political career. He joined the Congress party in 1984 and remained a Member of Parliament for five terms, until his death in 2005.

Kamal Haasan: The megastar joined politics in 2018 by forming the Centrism party Makkal Needhi Maiam (MNM), a regional political party in Tamil Nadu.

Roopa Ganguly: She played Draupadi, wife of the Pandavas, also called as Panchali and Yagyaseni in the epic mythological show Mahabharat in the 90s. And in fact, she rose to fame after it. In 2015, Ganguly joined Bharatiya Janata Party ahead of 2016 West Bengal Legislative Assembly election. She, however, lost from Howrah North to Trinamool Congress counterpart and cricketer Laxmi Ratan Shukla. In 2016, Roopa Ganguly was nominated to the Rajya Sabha in place of cricketer Navjot Singh Sidhu, who resigned earlier. She is now a BJP MP.

Nafisa Ali: Veteran actress Nafisa Ali known for her role in Junoon opposite Shashi Kapoor and in Major Saab opposite Amitabh Bachchan was a Miss India participant back in the 70s. She dabbled into politics and contested the 2004 Lok Sabha elections unsuccessfully from South Kolkata. In 2009, she contested the Lok Sabha election from Lucknow on a Samajwadi Party ticket. Ali is currently a member of the Congress party.

Kirron Kher: Kirron Kher joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in 2009. She is now a Member of Parliament, Lok Sabha from Chandigarh constituency. But Kirron doesn't like to be called a politician.
