Daddy (1989):Daddy, directed by Pooja Bhatt's father Mahesh Bhatt, marked her acting debut in Bollywood. The story revolves around an alcoholic father (Anupam Kher) trying to reconcile with his daughter (Pooja) who has no recollection of her parents.

Dil Hai Ki Manta Nahi (1991): Mahesh Bhatt directed his daughter Pooja Bhatt yet again in this unofficial remake of It Happened One Night which was earlier adapted in Hindi as Chori Chori starring Raj Kapoor and Nargis. While the rich, spoilt and bratty daughter (Pooja) runs away from home to marry a film star, she falls for an out-of-job journalist (Aamir Khan) en route. In what could be one of the most memorable moments from the film, her father (Anupam Kher) urges her to elope from her own wedding to be with her love.

Khamoshi: The Musical (1996): Sanjay Leela Bhansali's directorial debut Khamoshi: The Musical explored the relationship between a deaf and mute couple (Nana Patekar and Seema Biswas) and their daughter Annie (Manisha Koirala). The film's climax, where Nana Patekar brings Manisha back to consciousness from a coma by his 'mute' speech, is sure to leave you emotionally stirred.

Papa Kahte Hain (1996): A teenager (Mayuri Kango) runs away from home to meet her father in Seychelles. However, she develops a father-daughter-like bond with a man (Anupam Kher) who turns out to be her father.

Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (1998): We see Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol recreate their on-screen magic for the fourth time in Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. But there's something more than their romance that touched many a heart. And that is Anjali! Played by Sana Saeed, the 8-year-old Anjali is on a mission to reunite her father with his best friend after the death of her mom Tina (Rani Mukerji).

Mohabbatein (2000): Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Amitabh Bachchan played on-screen father-daughter duo in the love saga Mohabbatein seven years before turning into a real-life father-in-law and daughter-in-law jodi in 2007.

Kya Kehna (2000): Kya Kehna was a bold film for its time. It deals with the taboo topic of pre-marital pregnancy. What comes as a breath of fresh air is that Priya (Preity Zinta) Bakshi's family, especially her father, played by Anupam Kher, supports her decision to give birth to the child. Despite staunch opposition from the society, her father stands by her, and sets a stellar example.

Main Aisa Hi Hoon (2005): Directed by Harry Baweja, this Bollywood remake of I am Sam starred Ajay Devgn as a single dad with a developmental disability, who fights for the custody of his daughter Gungun, played by Rucha Vaidya.

Daawat-e-Ishq (2014): Anupam Kher plays a doting dad yet again, but this time, he is also his daughter Gulrez's partner in crime. After failing to find the right match for his daughter, played by Parineeti Chopra, he joins hands with her in conning a groom into fake marriage and swindling money.

Piku (2015): Amitabh Bachchan and Deepika Padukone share a quirky and adorable father-daughter bond in Shoojit Sircar's Piku. Deepika plays the titular role, a Bengali architect living in New Delhi, while Big B portrays her ageing father. It explores the twists and turns their relationship takes as the two, along with Irrfan, embark on a road trip to Kolkata.

Bhoomi (2017): The film is an emotional and sensitive revenge drama that explores the relationship between a father and daughter played by Sanjay Dutt and Aditi Rao Hydari. The film marks the comeback of Sanjay Dutt to cinema.

Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga (2019): Though the film is not completely revolving around a father-daughter duo, Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga aligns to the same theme. The Sonam Kapoor and Anil Kapoor-starrer is based on a lesbian love story of the lead character (Sonam) and the relationship with her father after she reveals about her homosexuality.

Angrezi Medium asks viewers these intriguing questions as they meet Champak Bansal - the new age father. The film tells the story of a man who crosses all boundaries, literally and figuratively, to keep his daughter's wish of studying in London alive. Irrfan essays the role of the doting dad, while Radhika Madan plays his ambitious daughter, Tarika.

102 Not Out (2018): Based on a stage play by Saumya Joshi and directed by Umesh Shukla, 102 Not Out features Amitabh as a boisterous 102-year-old father to his conventional 76-year-old son played by Rishi. The film revolves around the father's aim of breaking the record

Jawaani Jaaneman (2020): Starring Saif Ali Khan, Tabu and debutant Alaya F, the movie revolves around how a bachelor, who has the time of his life living and partying in London, until his life turns upside down when he meets a girl who turns out to be his daughter. From accepting his daughter to forming a never-seen-before friendship with her, Jawaani Jaaneman is a perfect film to celebrate fathers!
