Recently, speculations arose that the much-anticipated film 'Jee Le Zaraa' might face the unfortunate fate of being shelved. This arose after Priyanka Chopra reportedly walked out of the project due to scheduling conflicts. However, India Today has confirmed that acclaimed director Zoya Akhtar has firmly denied these rumors, providing hope that the film is still on track.
The movie, set to be an all-female buddy road movie, boasts an impressive cast, including the talented Alia Bhatt and the enchanting Katrina Kaif. Zoya Akhtar, along with co-writer Reema Kagti, has crafted a captivating storyline that promises to deliver an engaging cinematic experience. Moreover, 'Jee Le Zaraa' marks the highly anticipated return of Farhan Akhtar to the director's chair, following his last directorial venture 'Don 2' in 2011. The film's announcement was made in conjunction with the celebration of Farhan's directorial debut in the cult classic 'Dil Chahta Hai', which took place in 2021.
Providing clarity on the situation, Zoya Akhtar addressed the rumors by stating, "We're just waiting for the dates," indicating that the film's production is not in jeopardy. While she did not explicitly confirm whether Priyanka Chopra is still part of the project, she did assure fans that 'Jee Le Zaraa' is indeed moving forward.
Meanwhile, on the other side of the film industry, Farhan Akhtar has been in discussions with the versatile actor Aamir Khan. Aamir, who is presently on an acting hiatus to focus on his production company, Aamir Khan Productions, is working on the remake of the 2018 Spanish sports dramedy 'Campeones', translated to Champions in English. Initially considering Salman Khan for the lead role, Aamir turned to Farhan Akhtar due to scheduling conflicts. Although casting is yet to be finalized, Farhan has expressed interest in the part.

As Farhan Akhtar winds down his acting commitments, he is anticipated to make a comeback to the director's seat. However, sources indicate that Jee Le Zaraa might not be the project he returns with. Instead, speculations abound about the third installment of his blockbuster action thriller franchise, "Don 3." While Shah Rukh Khan, who portrayed the iconic titular character in the first two films, is rumored to have opted out of the third film, Ranveer Singh has emerged as a strong contender to lead the project.
Amidst all the buzz, an inside source revealed that Farhan Akhtar is collaborating harmoniously with the leading actors and has been considerate of their schedules. The ultimate decision on the fate of Jee Le Zaraa will be taken once all three leads can align their shooting dates. It is also possible that there might be some changes in the casting to accommodate the actors' availability.
