`Selfiee` trailer launch/Yogen Shah
The trailer of Akshay Kumar, Emraan Hashmi, Diana Penty and Nushrratt Bharuccha's 'Selfiee' launched in Mumbai today. The film features Akshay as superstar Vijay and Emraan as a cop who is also a diehard fan and father who is willing to do anything to fulfil his son's dream of taking a picture with Vijay.
Akshay shared the trailer on social media and captioned the post, 'Iss kahaani ka villain toh pata nahi par hero #Selfiee hai.'

The trailer opens with the entry of superstar Vijay, attempting daredevil stunts along with Mrunal Thakur. He goes on to speak about how he is doing four films, out of which two are for OTT, followed by a number of commercials, live events and reality shows. He also talks about his love for driving. Emraan plays the cop Om Prakash. The opportunity for a selfie arrives when Om helps Vijay get a driving license but the father-son duo is in for a rude shock. Akshay's hit song from the 90s' 'Main Khiladi Tu Anari' also makes a comeback with this film.
'Selfiee' is reportedly a remake of the 2019 Malayalam comedy Driving Licence which featured Prithviraj Sukumaran as a superstar and Suraj Venjaramoodu in the role of a motor vehicle inspector. It was directed by Lal Jr. Driving License is based on a star who is known for his driving skills but loses his licence. Meanwhile, the Akshay-Emraan starrer is directed by Raj Mehta who had also worked with Akshay on 'Good Newwz.' Besides Akshay and Emraan, the movie also stars Diana Penty and Nushrratt Bharuccha as the leading ladies of the film. It has been backed by Karan Johar's Dharma Productions along with Akshay's Cape of Good Films and Sukumaran's Prithviraj Productions and Magic Frames. The movie is scheduled to release in theatres on February 24.
