'Tiger 3': Khan’t keep them in prison

Everybody is talking about Tiger vs Pathaan, even though Yash Raj Films has not officially announced the project. But before Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan's spy characters lock horns, they will join forces in Tiger 3. In March, mid-day had reported that Shah Rukh will shoot his cameo for the Salman-led spy thriller in summer (Jailhouse rock for SRK-Salman, March 2). Now, it can be confirmed that the actors kicked off the shoot last week in Madh Island, beginning with close-up shots. Over the next 10 days, the superstars, under director Maneesh Sharma's supervision, will film heavy-duty action scenes set in a jail, and cable cars.

In Pathaan, Salman's Tiger was seen telling Shah Rukh's character that he will soon need his help on a deadly mission, thus paving the way for the special appearance. A source reveals, "Maneesh and producer Aditya Chopra have envisioned a track that sees Pathaan rescuing Tiger. Considering Pathaan's train sequence became wildly popular, Adi was certain that this had to be bigger and better. So, he has built sprawling sets in Madh Island. One depicts the interiors of a prison where the rescue mission will play out. Another set-up is of a hill that will form the setting for an exhilarating action sequence in a cable car. They have also planned a chase scene for which a long stretch of road has been built at the site. These three set-pieces will be the movie's highlights, and Adi is sparing no expense to make them the biggest action extravaganza seen in Indian cinema. The sets have cost a whopping Rs 30 crore."

The jailbreak act will be a continuation of a sequence that Salman shot last year. The set, designed by Mayur Sharma at Yash Raj Studios then, has been recreated for the purpose. "Maneesh has roped in Korean stunt director Se-Yeong Oh to choreograph that portion. The cable car and the chase sequences are being designed by South African stunt company Pyranha Stunts. Professional bodybuilder Varinder Singh Ghuman will feature in these scenes," adds the source. After this leg, it will be a wrap on the film that is slated for a Diwali release. Tiger 3 will also see Katrina Kaif reprise her role of Zoya, and Emraan Hashmi as the antagonist.
