Singham Again: Akshay Kumar jumps off the helicopter, poster out on 2 years of Sooryavanshi

Rohit Shetty and Akshay Kumar reopened theatres after almost 1.5 years of COVID-19-induced pandemic with their cop-thriller, Sooryavanshi. Despite a delay due to the outbreak of coronavirus in 2020, the makers stood by the decision to go for a theatrical release instead of opting for direct-to-digital streaming. Today, the film completed 2 years.

On the occasion of 2 years of Sooryavanshi, the makers of the upcoming thriller, Singham Again, unveiled Akshay's poster as Veer Sooryavanshi from the film. He is a part of Rohit's star-studded cop universe. In the poster, Akshay, whose character works for the Anti-Terrorism Squad, can be seen jumping off the helicopter in an important chase sequence.

Sharing the poster, Rohit wrote, "In Singham Again, we are just doing what our fans want us to do! So here it is…Akshay Kumar and a helicopter! As we complete 2 years of Sooryavanshi, VEER SOORYAVANSHI joins the battle with Singham."

Akshay wrote on Instagram, "‘Aila re aila, #Sooryavanshi aila' Time for ATS Chief Veer Sooryavanshi's entry. Are you ready?"

Ajay Devgn returns as Singham whereas Ranveer Singh is back as Simmba. Kareena Kapoor Khan and Deepika Padukone play the female lead. The latter's character name is Shakti Shetty and she's the first female cop in the universe. Tiger Shroff is Special Task Force officer ACP Satya.

Singham Again went on floors on September 16 with Ajay and Ranveer. Sharing pictures from the muhurat puja, Rohit wrote, "Singham, Singham returns, Simmba, Sooryavanshi...12 Years ago, when we made Singham, we never thought that it would turn into a Cop Universe! Today, we begin filming Singham Again... the 5th film in our cop franchisee. ISME HUM APNI JAAN LAGA DENGE! BAS AAPKE PYAAR AUR DUA KI ZAROORAT HAI! (We'll give it our best, please shower love and blessings on us)."

Singham Again is scheduled to release in theatres on Independence Day 2024. The film is expected to clash at the box office with Allu Arjun, Rashmika Mandanna and Fahadh Faasil's pan-India drama, Pushpa 2: The Rule.
