Salman Khan and Shabina Khan
Popular choreographer Shabina Khan, the name behind films like 'Prem Ratan Dhan Payo' 'Bhaijaan' 'Gadar 2' 'Uunchai' and many more gets into conversation with mid-day.com on 'BTS Stars.' The choreographer shares a long association with Salman Khan, who celebrates his birthday today. From making Salman Khan and Sunny Deol dance to problems faced by female choreographers, do not miss this special conversation.
Speaking about her rapport with Salman, Shabina told mid-day.com, "My relation with Salman sir didn't start with 'Prem Ratan Dhan Payo.' My first day of shoot as Ganesh Hegde's assistant was with Salman Khan. I didn't know who he is because we were kids and didn't even have a TV at home. Then I went on to work as Ganesh Acharya's assistant on film's like 'Judwaa,' so it's been a journey. I knew how he would like me to teach him, then he called me for films like 'Jai Ho' and 'Dabangg.' Everyone does his songs but I do it with a lot of ease because I've worked with him for so long. Whatever he does is with ease in his body language, he created his own style. He doesn't come to the rehearsal hall so I create optional steps for him and he chooses what is best."
The choreographer goes on to say, she admires the respect Salman gives to women working on set. "Even today I dance behind the camera when he is shooting. He is such a brilliant human being that started calling me ma'am when I turned dance master. I requested him not to call me ma'am but he said the others will address me in the same way that he does. He gives a lot of respect to women on the sets."
