Taaruk Raina
Who would've thought that the bad boy of Mismatched would be the mind behind the show's theme song? Taaruk Raina, who plays the foul-mouthed Anmol Malhotra in the Netflix series, was given the responsibility to compose Kho gaye for the recently dropped second season. The actor remembers how a chance conversation with showrunner-director Akarsh Khurana during the rom-com's shoot led to the opportunity. "We were sitting in our hotel room when I had played him the melody, and he told me that this is the song he wanted me to work on. With its breaks and crescendos, the song has ups and downs, just like a relationship," says Raina.

While the series has an eclectic album, Kho gaye beautifully encapsulates the emotions of leads Dimple and Rishi, portrayed by Prajakta Koli and Rohit Saraf respectively. "Akarsh let me explore the feeling of separation between Dimple and Rishi. He didn't bind me to any thoughts since the song already told the story. Funnily, I had originally imagined the song in an EDM space, which sounds ridiculous now."

As he reprises his role of Anmol in the latest season, Raina is elated that the offering enables him to showcase his diverse shades as an artiste. The actor-musician says, "My first love has always been music, but then acting came into my life, and I fell in love with it, too. I'm fortunate enough to contribute [to the show] in both roles."
