Amid celebrities filing police complaints after their deepfakes surfaced on social media, a woman shared her ordeal which has raised concerns about cyberbullying. The incident came to light after she shared a thread of posts on X, formerly Twitter giving a detailed account of what happened when she criticised Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor's look as Lord Ram in the upcoming Nitesh Tiwari directorial âRamayana'.
It all started when the woman commented on a post featuring Ranbir's looks in âRamayana', âAnimal', and âSanju'. She wrote, "Range so good I can't even find the difference between three characters."
She was then subjected to a barrage of morphed photos and videos of herself in an âobscene' manner. She has alleged that the ones behind these horrendous acts are fans of Ranbir.
She wrote in her post, "@mpcyberpolice, I am reaching out in dire need of assistance, i am a victim of online harassment. My personal pictures are being morphed and edited obscenely without my consent, causing distress and harm. I am attaching all the images as proofs here."
