He's currently riding high on the success of his newest film, 'Amar Singh Chamkila.'
Imtiaz Ali shuts down rumours
In the last part of Tamasha, Ranbir's character Ved goes to Deepika's character Tara on stage and kisses her to show gratitude for saving him. Imtiaz Ali shared his thoughts on filming that moment with News18, "We were shooting this at a studio. It was a stage that we created and lot of work had happened but this frame where he would enter from a certain place and he would enter from another place and they would be looking at each other from a very close distance. It's a very difficult shot for actors to play because you are seeing them so close and one can't formulate exactly what your reaction will be when you come so close to another person who belongs to the gender you are attracted to. It was a warm experience for all of us to watch."
Imtiaz Ali praised Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone's acting chemistry, acknowledging their ability to make the scene work, "People feel that these people had an affair with each other, but beyond that for life of an actor, there is a love for performing with each other, which is very important and significant. You might love to act with each other also and these two actors have that. They have the love for acting with each other. That showed in that frame."

About 'Tamasha'
The romantic drama revolves around Ved and Tara who fall in love while on a holiday and decide to not reveal their real identities. Tara realizes her love for Ved after returning to Delhi and later meets a new Ved, who is trying to discover his true self and his real calling in life.
The movie then shows Ved's inner struggle as he transforms from a daily 9-5 job person who works as a product manager in a company to that of a storyteller who performs in theatres and portrays his stories in front of the audience.
