Bollywood musicians get you ready for the festive season

Aastha Gill

Divya Kumar's Bhammariyo

Navratri marks the onset of the festive season. The mood is upbeat. We wanted to create a song that captured the celebratory spirit, melodiously. Since there are restrictions on dandiya events, it is our endeavour to bring a smile on people's faces through Bhammariyo.

A festive song should be upbeat so that people can dance to it. The lyrics should be relatable, and the number must be colourful. Saawariya has all these elements. It has a '90s vibe, with the legendary Kumar Sanu lending his voice to it. Audiences will also witness a romantic track involving Arjun Bijlani and me, which will make people fall in love this festive season.

Payal Dev and Mika Singh's Halo re halo

Payal: Navratri is whole-heartedly celebrated, and with this number, everyone can let their hair down and groove. I have never sung a garba track before so this track [for Warner India] is special.

Mika: I really like this song's eclectic beats. We've created it in keeping with the festive vibe.

Priya Saraiya's Navlakh

Navlakh is about faith and hope, and is about a child calling on to his mother when he is in trouble, and can't see the light [at the end of the tunnel]. I have always been fascinated by Gujarati sahitya. When I heard this song on Jigardan's YouTube channel, I instantly connected with the vibe. It brought tears to my eyes, and I thought of interpreting these beautiful lyrics by Shri Bharatdan Gadhavi, in my voice.
