Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel's recent offering, Gadar 2, has made a striking debut at the box office, amassing a substantial collection of Rs 40 crore. Notable figures from the Bollywood fraternity, including Kangana Ranaut, have showered praise on the film. Kangana took to her Instagram stories to convey her appreciation for both Deol and the movie, while also cleverly addressing other filmmakers and actors.
Kangana candidly mentioned that had Gadar 2 stood as the sole release for the week, its earnings could have easily surged to an impressive Rs 65-70 crore. To emphasize her point, she posted a video on her social media account, capturing a sizable crowd streaming out of a movie theatre after watching "Gadar 2." Accompanying the video, her words read, "No mafia politics, no bought reviews, no fake propaganda, no buying of tickets through bulk corporate bookings, no cartoon looking actors, proper manly hero and proper massy content."
Gadar 2 unfurls against the backdrop of the 1971 âCrush India Movement,' portraying the courageous odyssey of Tara Singh as he ventures into Pakistan to rescue his son, Charan Jeet Singh (portrayed by Utkarsh Sharma), from the clutches of the Pakistani Army. Anil Sharma dons the director's hat for the film, which shares its theatrical release with Akshay Kumar's "OMG 2."
The movie has received immense public support. Take a look at a few tweets:
