Actor Pankaj Tripathi is among the finest talents from the Indian film industry. He has a massive fan following not just among film lovers but also within the film industry. Actor Janhvi Kapoor is also a fan of the senior actor and working with him was always on her wishlist. The two shared screen in the 2020 Netflix 'Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl' where they played father-daughter duo. Janhvi recently revealed that she turned vegetarian for 10-12 days to fulfill her wish of working with Pankaj Tripathi.
Janhvi Kapoor is currently promoting her upcoming film 'Mr and Mrs Mahi'. Amid the promotions, the actress revealed how she pledged to forgo non-veg food for a ceratin period as a prayer to get Pankaj Tripathi to sign 'Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl'. Admitting she doesn't generally idolise people, she always wished to work alongside Tripathi. "I wanted to work with Pankaj Tripathi Sir. He was on my wishlist. People present on the sets of Gunjan Saxena know that I used to behave like a crazy girl because I was a big fan of him and even today I am."
"I took a mannat to make him say yes to the film. I think for 10, 12, or 15 days I became a vegetarian so that he says yes," laughed Janhvi.
During the release of the film back in the day, Pankaj Tripathi had spoken about working with Janhvi Kapoor. "She is a brilliant actor. I learn a lot from her as she is very hardworking and serious about her work. In fact, she doesn't have any starry tantrums, and I must say that we have a great bond. She orders local delicacies like lassi and biryani and insists that I eat," he had said showering Janhvi with praise.

Meanwhile, Janhvi Kapoor is reuniting with director Sharan Sharma for the second time with 'Mr and Mrs Mahi'. He also directed her in 'Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl'. The film is backed by Karan Johar's Dharma Productions. It will hit the theatres on May 31. While talking about the film, Janhvi said, "It's a story about two people who get courage from each other to follow their dreams. And it's a very lovely story. It's not just about cricket. It's a family drama. It's a father and son story."
