Imran Khan took a trip down memory lane on Instagram, sharing throwback pictures from the sets of his 2010 film, 'Break Ke Baad.'
Khan posted candid behind-the-scenes moments from the film shoot. The first photo was a still from the film where his co-star Deepika Padukone wrapped his arms around him while seated underneath table. Talking about the making of the film, Imran shared that 'Break Ke Baad' felt like more play than work. Filmed in the scenic landscapes of Mauritus, Imran revealed how the entire cast and crew had enjoyed their time in the country thoroughly, gorging themselves on local food and wine. Somewhere in between the fun, a film had been birthed!
"In the summer of 2010, I went to Mauritius to shoot Break ke Baad. We swam every day, ate a lot of seafood, sampled Mauritian rum (potent), and made some friends for life. It was a blast. Apparently, in between all the revelries, we managed to make a film as well."

Imran Khan said that the film holds a special place in his heart not because of its content or audience appraisal - but because of the long-lasting memories and friendships the 'Break ke Baad' team created behind the camera. "This one always had a special place in my heart, because of how much I enjoyed making it. I can't show you many of the behind-the-scenes photographs, as it may compromise the modesty of certain individuals... but here's a glimpse."
Staying true to his word, Bollywood's chocolate boy shared a few unfiltered photographs with his co-star, Deepika. These included her giving him a piggyback ride, them enjoying a cruise on calm Mauritian waters along with director Danish Aslam and posing with macho Imran Khan cutouts!
Deepika Padukone commented, 'So true!' on his post. The film's director also re-iterated these sentiments in a post of his own. "I don't believe in karma, or most things spiritual. But this movie was always meant to be for me, not just because it was my first but also because I was meant to meet the people I made it with, become friends and then continue to be friends long after the cameras stopped rolling - a rarity in this profession," he said. Truly sounds like a special film!
Imran Khan has been missing from Indian cinema for almost eight years now. He quickly rose to fame as a rising talent in his debut film, 'Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na,' opposite Genelia D'Souza but had sporadic hits and misses in the industry after that He was last seen in Katti Batti (2015) co-starring Kangana Ranaut. After its debacle, he shifted focus to directing films. In 2020, the actor retracted his steps from his Bollywood career altogether.
Recently, veteran star Zeenat Aman posted one of her CRED commercials on Instagram. Reacting to Zeenat's fintech ad on Instagram, a fan named Aditi appealed, "Zeenat Ji ne bhi comeback karlia, patani mera @imrankhan kab karega ðÂÂÂ" Sending the internet into a meltdown, Imran replied to the comment, "Chalo Aditi, let's leave this one to the internet⦠1M likes, and I'll make it happen (sic)." Perhaps, it was Imran's nostalgia for the name of Genelia's onscreen character, Aditi, sparked by this fan that led to this surprise move.
Needless to say, if Imran Khan had left his comeback to the silver screen in the hands of his followers, we wouldn't have had to wait for his comeback for so long! The comment quickly garnered over one million likes and Imran confirmed a few days ago that he was indeed, planning a comeback soon. His latest nostalgia post for 'Break Ke Baad' provided his fans with a renewed blast from the past - and anticipation for his return to the industry are at an all-time high.
