Ranbir Kapoor with Alia Bhatt

Every day brings some new information about Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt's upcoming wedding. While we know that the couple has blocked April 13 to April 17 for the wedding celebrations, we have now learnt that the couple has zeroed in on their wedding date based on RK's lucky number. Sources say they will take the saat pheras in the wee hours of April 16. The date 16-04-2022 adds to 8, which the Sanju actor considers his lucky number. Alia made a reference to it two years ago when she wished him "Happy Birthday 8" on social media. The pre-wedding ceremonies will begin on April 13, with the Kapoor family's mehndi function at RK House in Chembur. The following day, Alia will have the haldi and sangeet at her Bandra home. The celebrations will culminate with a grand reception at RK House, before the two actors get back to their professional commitments.

Ad-libbing

As he gears up for his summer shaadi, Ranbir Kapoor teamed up with mother Neetu Kapoor for an ad commercial. The two had shared screen space nine years ago for Besharam (2013), which also featured Rishi Kapoor. Neetu shared a picture with Ranbir from the set, on social media, saying, "Ad shoot with my jaane jigar (heartbeat)," and punctuated it with a heart emoji. Interestingly, Alia Bhatt's mother Soni Razdan commented on her post saying, "Wow!"

A tough nut to crack!

It appears as if Tejasswi Prakash needs a crash course in breaking coconuts. The actor had a tough time cracking one when taking the delivery of her new luxury SUV on Tuesday. In her second attempt, the coconut bounced off. Fortunately, beau Karan Kundrra was around to help her crack it so that she could sprinkle some coconut water on her new set of wheels before zooming off in it.

An homage to dad

If other actors can pay tribute to Amitabh Bachchan, why can't Abhishek Bachchan? The actor likes to pay an ode to his favourite things in some way or the other in his work. His latest release Dasvi is no exception. Apparently, for a scene with Nimrat Kaur, who plays his wife in the movie, AB has imitated Big B's body language from Khuda Gawah when his character Badshah Khan meets his wife Benazir (played by the late Sridevi) after several years. Interestingly, Abhishek recently revealed that he used to perform Badshah Khan's climax scene for his friends at his boarding school.

That's not fine!

Never mind if his last release was a huge hit, Allu Arjun should know that he is not above the rules. The actor was stopped by the Hyderabad traffic cops in the marketplace when they noticed tinted window shields on his luxury SUV. He was promptly issued a challan and had to pay a fine of '700 for violating the norms. For the ill-informed, the use of dark tinted glasses or black film on vehicle windows has been banned in India since 2012.

Ego clash between Salman, Sajid?

Industry is abuzz swith the fallout between jaani-dosts Salman Khan and Sajid Nadiadwala, following which the actor decided to take over the Farhad Samji-directed Kabhi Eid Kabhi Diwali (KEKD). Even as their respective production houses are looking at the paperwork of the film, netizens are having a field day trolling the actor and the producer. Given that Salman was earlier keen to have brother-in-law Aayush Sharma in KEKD, his fans have also criticised his ‘rozgaar yojana' for casting friends and family in his movies. Meanwhile, sources tell us Sajid didn't expect Salman to flare up when he went to his farmhouse to express his reservations about starting the film. Things heated up when the actor reportedly told the producer, "Main sabse bada star hoon. Main yeh film banaunga." That's when Sajid decided to opt out of KEKD.

Shabir's new role

After playing the lead in the long-running Kumkum Bhagya, Shabir Ahluwalia will be seen in a different role in his new show, Pyaar Ka Pehla Naam Radha Mohan. The actor, who wanted a riveting storyline for his next venture, says he was fascinated by this unique story with lots of twists and turns. "I personally love the way Mohan's character has been written. He was quite the charmer in his 20s, but in his mid-30s, his life has taken a dramatic turn," says Shabir, adding that it will be interesting for viewers to see the changes his character undergoes and why.

Getting ready for the game

Nearly two years after it was announced, director Abhishek Chaubey's biopic on India's hockey legend, Dhyan Chand, will kick-start this year. Ishaan Khatter essays the sports icon in this Ronnie Screwvala production, which is slated to roll by the year-end. Abhishek will begin pre-production after wrapping up Soup, which he is currently filming with Manoj Bajpayee and Konkona Sensharma. A couple of months before he starts shooting the biopic, Ishaan will undergo intense training to familiarise himself with the sport, particularly Dhyan Chand's style. Interestingly, the director and the actor have worked before on Udta Punjab (2016), which saw Khatter as an assistant director.
