Vijay Deverakonda and Karan Johar
If you thought a filmmaker and an actor reunite only after a hit, think again. Talk in the trade is that Karan Johar is likely to work with Vijay Deverakonda again. Never mind that their first collaboration, Liger, was a massive flop. Sources claim that the filmmaker and the actor not only share great camaraderie, but are in talks for a new movie. Interestingly, KJo will produce the film himself and not in association with another producer-director, like he did with Puri Jagannadh and Charmme Kaur, in the case of Liger. Talking of Puri, he has waded into another controversy as a recent audio of him threatening distributors and exhibitors of the Telugu version of Liger for planning to stage a protest outside his office has gone viral. As for KJo and Vijay's next, watch this space.
About two years since he quit international cricket, Mahendra Singh Dhoni is gearing for a new innings. Six years after his biopic, MS Dhoni: The Untold Story, with the late Sushant Singh Rajput portraying him on screen, the former Indian captain is foraying into the movies. On the auspicious occasion of Diwali, he launched his production house, Dhoni Entertainment. Incidentally, the first venture of the former Chennai Super Kings IPL team captain will be a Tamil film. Said to be a family entertainer, the story has been conceptualised by his wife Sakshi Dhoni, who is the managing director of his company. The yet-untitled film will be directed by Ramesh Thamilmani, known for his famous novel Atharva - The Origin.

The festive fervour continues in the film industry. Most B-Town performed Lakshmi Puja at their homes. It was no different for Vicky Kaushal and Katrina Kaif, as they celebrated their first Diwali after their wedding. Sharing a picture of them performing the puja, Vicky wrote, "Ghar ki Lakshmi ke saath Lakshmi Puja ho gayi. Aap sabhi ko hamari taraf se Shubh Deepavali." On the work front, Kat has horror comedy Phone Bhoot releasing on November 4, while Vicky is slated to head for the next schedule of Meghna Gulzar's Sam Bahadur soon.

Malayalam superstar Mohanlal seems to be unperturbed by the mixed response to his last Friday release, Monster. The actor, who wrapped up filming Ram with director Jeethu Joseph in London recently, has finalised his next movie. This time around, he is teaming up with Jallikattu director Lijo Jose Pellissery for a sports drama. Apparently, Mohanlal will play a wrestler in the yet-untitled film. The actor, who reunites with Prithviraj Sukumaran for L2: Empuraan, also has the third instalment of Drishyam with Jeethu in the pipeline.
It appears that Aayush Sharma is bitten by the south bug. After BrahmÃÂstra makers shared gross box office figures of the Ranbir Kapoor-Alia Bhatt starrer, like south Indian filmmakers do, now Aayush's films are being referred to in terms of number. Last afternoon, the LoveYatri actor shared a picture of himself, saying, "Guitar se ya gun se.. Kal shor toh machega! #AS04 loading tomorrow. Stay tuned." Last seen in Antim: The Final Truth, Aayush reportedly opted out of Salman Khan's Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan due to creative differences with director Farhad Samji. Earlier this month, the actor shared the announcement of his mytho modern action adventure, tentatively titled AS03. Looks like he is sparing no effort in making his own space without any help from Salman bhai.

Priyanka Chopra Jonas had more than one reason to celebrate the festival of lights this year. The actor, who got emotional with the recent announcement that Diwali will be a public school holiday in New York from 2023, had mother Madhu Chopra join husband Nick Jonas, daughter Malti Marie and her for the celebrations. The trio went out for dinner on Diwali night. Later, Nick was seen holding saasu-ma's hand as he helped her step out of the restaurant.
Unlike Amitabh Bachchan, who maintains a professional equation with the media whom he had earlier banned for boycotting him, actor-wife Jaya Bachchan has been making news for being miffed with the paparazzi. When the Bachchans headed to their Pratiksha bungalow for Diwali celebrations on Monday evening, Jaya wasn't too pleased to see the photographers waiting outside. The veteran actor stepped outside the gate to chase the paps out of the lane. "Kaise flash kar rahein hain aap, intruders," she thunders in the video that has gone viral. And to think that barely a week ago, she got flak for telling a photographer, "I hope you double down and fall," as he stumbled when she attended a fashion show with grand-daughter Navya Naveli Nanda in Mumbai.
One has to hand it to Amitabh Bachchan, who doesn't let anything disrupt his professional and personal commitments. The actor, who turned 80 earlier this month, was recently spotted with a bandage around his leg while shooting Kaun Banega Crorepati 14. It is learnt that he injured his left calf and suffered a cut in a vein, which started bleeding immediately. "But had the nerve to get the doctor and so [moved] into an OT [for a round of] and the stitching up, with the assistance of team of staff and docs in time," he shared on his blog recently. Big B added that the doctors have advised him to not strain or try walking, even on a treadmill. Nonetheless, he played perfect host to his fraternity colleagues like Shah Rukh and Gauri Khan, Karan Johar, Anupam, Kirron and Sikandar Kher, Rima Jain and Kunal Kapoor, who joined in the celebrations at his home.
