Shah Rukh Khan, Aditya Chopra and Salman Khan
The cat is out of the bag. Reports are rife that a sequel to the Shah Rukh Khan-starrer Pathaan (2023) is the twist in the YRF Spy Universe before his face-off with Tiger, essayed by Salman Khan. Apparently, after the stupendous success of Siddharth Anand's directorial venture, SRK and producer Aditya Chopra thought of exploring it as an individual franchise. Sources claim that the basic idea of Pathaan 2 will pave the way for the big on-screen face-off with Salman in Tiger vs Pathaan. It is also being said that the SRK-starrer is being planned as the new tentpole of the YRF Spy Universe. Reportedly, the actor and Adi are planning to begin the film by early next year.
Rakul Preet Singh and Jackky Bhagnani's wedding festivities in Goa culminated on Wednesday night with two different rituals. The couple reportedly had an Anand Karaj ceremony first, and followed it with the Sindhi traditional pheras. The newlyweds shared glimpses from the rituals on social media, saying "Mine now and forever. 21-02-2024 #abdonobhagna-ni (sic)." While their posts were flooded with comments, the couple also got a congratulatory note from Prime Minister Narendra Modi. It read, "May the groom and the bride be perfect partners in the voyage of life by accepting each other's imperfections and learning from each other's virtues." Thanking the PM, the couple wrote, "Your wishes mean a lot to us."

Given that his films always have a strong antagonist, Rajkumar Santoshi has signed on Abhimanyu Singh for his next, Lahore 1947. The actor was previously seen as an antagonist in Rohit Shetty's Sooryavanshi (2021). Sharing that the part of a baddie is a strong one, an insider reveals, "Raj ji believes that an able and a powerful villain adds to the fight between good and evil in the narrative. Abhimanyu's antagonist is at constant loggerheads with Sunny Deol's character throughout the movie. That builds up to make the final face-off all the more interesting and dramatic for the audience, giving them a taste of the hero vs villain climax of the yore."
Despite earning praise for her performance in Vidhu Vinod Chopra's 12th Fail (2023), starring Vikrant Massey, Medha Shankr didn't exactly make the cut at the popular award shows so far. However, she was presented an IMDb (International Movie Database) Breakout Star STARmeter Award recently. The actor, who plays IRS officer Shraddha Joshi in the film, is thrilled about her win. Feeling honoured, Medha said, "This is my first award for 12th Fail, so it's extremely special. Audience love matters to me the most. I want to thank them for giving me so much of it for this performance."
Not one to take derogatory comments lightly, Trisha Krishnan has initiated legal action against former AIADMK (All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazagam) leader AV Raju. He made cheap insinuations against the Ponniyin Selvan actor in a press conference on Tuesday. After calling out his disgusting and despicable behaviour, she yesterday shared images of the legal notice sent to him through her lawyers. Besides seeking a compensation of an undisclosed amount for loss of reputation and causing mental agony, the notice demands Raju to delete all forms of the original defamatory video, desist from making any comments against the actor, and issue an unconditional apology to her within 24 hours. If he fails to comply with the terms, Trisha will be compelled to initial legal proceedings not limited to civil and criminal procedure against him.
Filmmaker Karan Johar and director Shashank Khaitan announced their next romcom yesterday. Said to be in a similar space as Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania (2014) and Badrinath Ki Dulhania (2017), this one sees Janhvi Kapoor paired on screen with Varun Dhawan. With Alia Bhatt having moved on from the Dulhania series, the makers are looking to take the genre in a different direction and have titled the new film, Sunny Sanskari ki Tulsi Kumari. The makers also announced that the film will arrive in cinemas on April 18 next year. The movie marks Varun's third collaboration with Shashank, and Janhvi's second with the director after her debut, Dhadak (2018).
